5 Ways Mom’s Can Kick Start Their Day with More Energy

Mornings can be hard for everyone. I wake up even more exhausted than when I went to sleep! As a parent, nights can be long, whether your sleep training, nighttime potty training or just dealing with bumps in the night. Broken sleep can make for a long day. Most mornings you would see me kicking back a coffee before I could even start to function. Then the caffeine crash would happen, ZZZZZzzzzz more caffeine needed. It was a bad cycle. 

I found that by changing my morning routine and adding a few different things and cutting some things out. I was starting to feel more energized for a long period of time! 

Drinking Water

The best thing you can do after you wake up is to drink water.  Try to drink 16oz of water, this helps fire up your metabolism, hydrates you, helps your body flush out toxins, gives your brain fuel, and may even make you eat less. By hydrating your body first you can help increase your energy right away.

 

Cutting Morning Carbs

This is a hard one for me, I generally like to just eat a quick slice of toast first thing in the morning. By choosing fresh fruits, eggs, lean proteins or even vegetables you can fuel your body for the day ahead.

My favorite morning juice has beet, tomato, apple, cucumber, celery, lemon, and turmeric.

Practicing yoga in the morning helps stretch out all those stiff muscles. I love searching YouTufor yoga routines that help energize. Yoga also helps kick start your digestive system and help nutrients move more easily through the body, causing it to metabolize carbs and fats more quickly.
