Being a 21st-century mom is a wonderful thing, you have so much at your disposal and the age of technology helps, but what happens when you have those little problems that just make you want to scream.
We are going to take a look at some everyday problems moms have and just how to deal with them.
The Chase is On
You will often hear moms say “I wish they were this small forever” when referring to their little newborn bundle of joy. They say this as they are pre-empting exactly what will be happening in around 12 months.
There comes a time when your little one would have not only gained the confidence to walk but now they are running and with some speed, I may add. Children are brilliantly minded and it could just be that their sense of humor develops from a very early age.
A child will nearly always find their ability to run whilst they are urinating and you have your hands full, this soon becomes a fun game and your little one is taking a break for it at every given opportunity.
So how do we get them to remain still for a few minutes whilst we take care of their needs? You could try to create a space for them to run to, like a fort or den, once in that space they then have their nappy changed and you have your job completed whilst they have their daily sprint.
Tackle the Terrible Twos
The dreaded terrible twos, the time every parent fears. When your dearest child seems to be overtaken by some external force. At this point, you will need to have a ton of numbers on standby. You will need a secondary authoritative voice and given what your dearest child will be getting up to you will almost definitely need a repairman and a locksmith on speed dial. You will have breakages galore and be prepared to wave goodbye to keys forever.
So how do we tackle the terrible twos? Well, firmness, routine, and most importantly remember, your baby isn’t a baby anymore. So now is the time to start treating them as a toddler. Luckily this stage doesn’t last for long if it’s dealt with correctly and you will be back to sanity in no time.
The Feeding Frenzy
At some point in the mom’s journey, you will come across the feeding problem. When all of a sudden your little one becomes the dreaded fussy eater. For some moms, this can be a terrifying time. They see the young ones barely eating and picking at real food.
This is something we take care of by using a little science and having a little fun. Remember we can make this into a game a feeding time. If we use a blindfold that not only covers the eyes but also the nostrils too we can play guess the food and reward them with correct guesses. Here is where mom wins, the child won’t guess correctly, after all, cover the eyes and nose and an apple and onion taste the same. It may sound like a dastardly trick but it works and it will stop mom worrying in no time.
